Mirrorable is an interactive platform that enables a unique at home rehab therapy for children with impaired motor skills due to brain damage. It stimulates the plasticity of a child’s motor system by activating mirror neurons as they watch tailored videos and play remotely with friends with similar needs, using a Kinect.
Mirrorable enables caregivers and doctors to collect more data, find new patterns and develop a unique strategy for each child.

User Journeys & User Testing
User Journey
After holding workshops with doctors, therapists and the caregivers of hemikids, we defined the users flow of a rehab session. Our goal was to make the rehab session fun and engaging for children and decided to use a magician who would teach the kids magic tricks in the form of rehabilitation moves. I wrote the script of the magician, and filmed and edited the video to be used in user testing with two hemikids.

Final Storyboard & Deliverables
We created the final storyboard for each day of the four week long pilot and wireframes for the UI. After the UI was designed I created animations to simulate how the player should be guided through the game and the special effects that would be the reward when the kids preformed the rehab movement correctly. These recommendations were given to the video maker and developer of the Kinect game for the pilot program being launched in December 2016.
